Civil proceedings

Preparation of bills of costs for detailed assessment and statements for summary assessment are charged at the rate of £109.00 per hour. These charges are claimed within the bill or statement of costs. Estimates of costs for procedural or other purposes are also charged at the rate of £109.00 per hour and will be claimed in the final bill or statement of costs where appropriate.

Preparation of points of dispute and replies to points of dispute, negotiations and attendances on detailed assessment are also charged at £109.00 per hour.

Preparation of legal aid or public funding bills of costs or CLAIM 1s are charged at the relevant prescribed hourly rate, namely £66.00 per hour in the County Court and £75.00 per hour in the High Court. These charges are claimed within the bill of costs or CLAIM 1.

Family and care proceedings

Preparation of legal aid or public funding bills of costs or CLAIM 1s in public or private law cases are charged at 6.5% of profit costs as drawn. Interim costings and estimates or statements of costs are charged at the relevant hourly rate for the category of work being undertaken and will be claimed in the final bill where appropriate.

Any costing matters not covered above are subject to arrangement with the client.
